EDIT 2: The first prototype of the poster for this piece went to the staff at GameStop (November 2013) at Northwoods Marketplace for their outstanding charisma as a team. I haven't lived in the area long, but that's one of the only GS locations where I've felt the staff isn't just trying to get me through the store as quickly as possible so they can move on. Not even when I applied for a job there. They're cool with holding conversations with me, and are always on top of their game (no...pun intended?). I did get a call for an interview with them - unfortunately, I already had a job by that point and declined the offer. But this is also the only GS out of the many I've applied for to do so. I really appreciate the opportunity.
Thanks, guys~!

EDIT: My piece did not place in the contest. You can view all of the winners HERE.

Well, America, it's been about 5 days since the deadline, and Nintendo still hasn't gotten us results for the Wind Waker fanart contest. :p
I'm done waiting to post this. My aversion to posting the work is wearing off.

For those who haven't heard, Nintendo of America was hosting an art contest in honor of the release of The Wind Waker HD on Wii U. And with prizes like $400+ worth of merchandise, it's been a challenge to compete. Our entry was to be WW inspired, and having only found out about the contest 2 days prior to the deadline, I had to decide on a composition that could be executed relatively quickly while retaining merit. Here's the description I sent in to the company along with my submission:

"The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker inspires a feeling of freedom with its wide open seas and fresh new atmosphere after the events in Ocarina of Time. I wanted to capture the spirit of this powerful adventure in all its bright vigor without losing sight of the precious memory that is Hyrule. To me, the connection between the two worlds, above and below the surface, is the most beautiful part of the game."

This is my first time drawing all of these characters. I think the only WW fanart I've ever done was Makar back in 2006, and Aryll back in 2005. ^^; I'm alright with how this turned out.
Again, I'd like to thank those who joined me in the LS for this - your encouragement meant the world to me~!

This is what wind waker would've looked like if it was in regular zelda art style.
