Whatever it is you drank over the past few years, send me a case of it. I'll buy the Wacom tablet and use my existing Photoshop if it means someday I can draw anywhere near your level. In the meantime, I'll commission you.
Oh man this is awsome. The second picture is so real her hair looks awsome how the wind flows in the hair And her clothing is so realistic. What ai like the most is the face You improved so much. And congrats to get into the semi-finals I looove this picture
Congratulations on being chosen as a semi-finalist for the Draw This Again Challenge! Your improvement from the old one to the new one is just remarkable. I love how you preserved almost everything about the original and simply used it to show off your improved abilities. It really shows that the original one had a lot going for it, though the concept has most definitely benefited from your artistic growth over the years.
The new version has better shading and form definition in general, but the two things that stick out to me as the greatest improvements are the atmosphere and brush use. I like how the hair, skirt, and leaves show the action of the wind really well in both, but the new one has a lovely warmth to it because of the use of yellow and directional light, while the decreasingly defined leaves add depth as well as atmosphere to the background. I think it looks a lot nicer than the simple blue sky of the old one. It's also nice how the brushes and textures you used in the new one are less "cookie cutter" than the ones used on the old version. The new one overall has a much more professional, organic look to it.
Again, congrats. Keep up the great work. It'll be amazing to see how you're doing in another eight years or so!
OMFG I love these kinds of redraws. They are so inspiring and absolutely brilliant. I bet this was super fun to do. Taking this image that you drew and recreating it. It's probably so much closer to what you had in mind now than when you drew it then.
